Sprinkler Pump Repair & Pressure Diagnostics in Miami

A huge percentage of homes in Miami-Dade and Broward — especially older neighborhoods on larger lots — run their irrigation off a well and pump rather than city water. When that pump or pressure tank fails, every zone suffers: weak spray, partial coverage, and a brown lawn within a week.

Pump diagnosis is the most misunderstood part of irrigation service. A 'low pressure' complaint can come from a failed pump, a waterlogged pressure tank, a clogged filter screen, a dropped well intake, or a pressure switch out of adjustment. Replacing the pump when the real issue is a $40 pressure switch is a common (and expensive) misdiagnosis.

We carry Goulds, Sta-Rite, Berkeley, and Pentair parts and replacement pumps on the truck for the most common Miami residential setups (1/2 HP, 1 HP, 1.5 HP centrifugal pumps). Most repairs are completed in one visit.

    Common Problems We Solve

Sound familiar? Here's what we usually find — and how we fix it.

Pump runs but pressure is weak

Usually a worn impeller, waterlogged pressure tank, or clogged intake screen. We diagnose with a pressure gauge and amp meter before quoting parts.

    Pump short-cycles (turns on/off rapidly)

Classic waterlogged pressure tank. The bladder has failed and the tank has lost its air charge. We replace or recharge the tank.

Pump won't turn on at all

Could be the pressure switch, the relay, the capacitor, or the motor itself. We test in order from cheapest to most expensive — never assume the pump is shot.

Orange water staining driveways and walls

Iron in well water. We can adjust head positions to eliminate overspray and install an iron filter at the pump to reduce staining at the source.

    Our Process

Same approach on every job — diagnosis first, then fix.

    1

    Diagnose with gauges

Pressure gauge on the discharge, amp meter on the motor leads — real diagnosis, not guesswork.

    2

    Identify the failed part

Pump, pressure switch, pressure tank, filter, capacitor, or relay — we tell you which and why.

    3

    Repair or replace

Stocked parts on the truck for most Goulds, Sta-Rite, Berkeley, and Pentair systems. One-visit fix in most cases.

    4

    Test full system

Run every zone after the repair to verify pressure and coverage are restored. 1-year labor warranty.

    Frequently Asked Questions

About pump services in Miami-Dade & Broward.

How much does sprinkler pump repair cost in Miami?

Pressure switch replacement: $125–$185. Pressure tank replacement: $275–$525. Full pump replacement: $400–$900 depending on pump size. We diagnose first and quote in writing before any work.

Why is my sprinkler pump short-cycling?

The pressure tank has lost its air charge — the rubber bladder inside the tank has failed. The pump turns on, fills the tank instantly, then shuts off, then repeats every few seconds. Replacing the tank fixes it.

Do you service well-fed irrigation systems?

Yes — well-fed systems are a specialty. We work on shallow-well, deep-well, and jet-pump setups across Miami-Dade and Broward.

Can you fix orange rust stains from my sprinklers?

Yes. The cause is iron in well water. We re-aim heads to keep overspray off concrete and walls, and can install an iron filter at the pump to reduce iron in the water itself.
